Project "Sichtbar Werden" ("Becoming Visible")__Audiovisual and lightchoreographic installation__Neumarkt, Leipzig, Germany 2025

When opposing a totalitarian regime, the first step is to make yourself visible. But by doing so, the peaceful protesters in Leipzig, and the rest of East-Germany in 1989, found themselves in the crosshairs of the DDR (German Democratic Republic) surveillance state. Yet, more and more people mustered the courage to step into the light, to open their window curtains, to appear in the streets - despite all threats by the government and secret police ("Stasi"). And began to light candles – which became the symbol of the peaceful revolution.
